WARRIORS OF THE LAST DAYS NOVELS ACROSS CANADA SO FAR

COMING 2028.
After the Fall. A City born of the past’s excess.
Two factions. One final outcome.
One group of Scavengers had turned the old mall into a fortress city and tried and restarted a semblance of civilization in their parts of Canada. They called it the World and became the Worlders.
Everything was going as well as could be after a nuclear fallout until another nomadic tribe of scavengers (a scavenge) fell upon them and decided they where done moving around. And the Carrions didn’t want roommates…

LABRADOR

COMING 2028.
A French nurse on a mission to head West across Canada passes through Labrador. She leaves nothing behind but footprints in the snow. Or so she thinks.
In Wabush, the Purification Movement holds that the Light was God’s punishment for the sins of the old world. To prevent another Blinding, they enforce absolute normality among the survivors: humans, animals, plants. Anything that deviates is a blasphemy. They recently hanged a fourteen-year-old girl for having six toes.
Within days of the nurse’s passage, the boreal forest begins to move. Trees that were already changing, already wrong, complete their transformation into something that hunts humans.
And when their hallucinogenic pollen floods the town, it strips away every wall the community’s hidden mutants have ever built, broadcasting what they are to everyone around them.
The Purge already has a rope. What it doesn’t have is a theology for mutated walking spruce trees and the caterpillars that used to feed off them.
The Day of the Chrysalids is a novel set in the Canada of Warriors of the Last Days universe.
Inspired by the work of John Wyndham.
Release: March 2028.

Coming 2028.
A courier from Shediac is hired to smuggle Mi’kmaq fungal medicine across the lawless Chignecto Sea, the flooded ruins of the isthmus that once connected Nova Scotia to the mainland, before a new disease called The Draining kills everyone who can’t afford to wait.

DOMINION OF DAMNATION: THE LONG LIGHT (2028)
Agent Stevenson has never worked a file he couldn’t close.
He didn’t expect Kimmirut to be any different: recruit the local person with the survival skills the mission needs, keep the antibiotic moving, be back at the office in a week. He definitely didn’t expect Ayalik, who has no patience for men who think their paperwork matters out here, and even less for the idea that she needs him for anything at all.
But somewhere between the sled dogs, a blizzard that shouldn’t exist, and a warning built from stone that he can’t read and she won’t explain, Stevenson starts falling for a woman who was never going to make this easy on him.
She is, without question, the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Out of a population of four hundred and twenty-six. But still. And he picked her for the mission.
Between the giant snow worms, the rabid polar bears, and the caribou people who are not, strictly speaking, caribou, there isn’t a lot of time left over for romance.
They make time anyway.
This time, love finds a way. So does something else.

THE WEDDING
A Dominion of Damnation Story
Ayalik survived the apocalypse. She survived the Dominion of Damnation. She even survived the infuriating Agent Stevenson. Somehow, she fell in love with him anyway.
Back on Baffin Island, she accepts his proposal and begins preparing them both for the greatest challenge they have ever faced: bringing two families, two cultures, and one hopelessly clueless but brave and determined qallunaat groom together for an Inuit wedding.

COMING 2027
Death Row follows Nomi, as she attempts to break her husband out of a maximum security prison, after the inmates where left to their own devices following a nuclear apocalypse across Canada.

QUEBEC CITY

COMING 2028.
THE MAID
After the Light, the St. Lawrence became the only road that mattered. Whoever controlled the river controlled everything else.
Marie-Anne did not choose the Kingz. They chose her. When a corsair named Phil overthrew them, she watched him become what he had destroyed. Then she took the river from him too.
The waterway now knows her only as the Maid. A legend with no face. A flag bearing a pierced heart with a single arrow through it. She asks nothing of those who cannot pay and takes everything from those who can.
Then a wanderer drifts in from the east with a giant fisherman and a Bible-quoting lunatic at his side. No fleet. No authority. No name anyone would recognize. But he looks at her flag in a way that tells her he knows exactly what that arrow means.

Stéphane Roy is a lifelong reader and writer with a deep love for science fiction, apocalyptic worlds, and tightly constructed mysteries. This is his first novel. He lives in the Yukon with his dog and his aquarium, where long winters, silence, and wide, sometimes glowing, skies leave plenty of room for imagining the end of the world, and what might come after it. He is also waiting, with cautious optimism, for the aliens to finally reveal themselves and straighten us all out.
