PITCHBLENDE:
A solitary wanderer receives an unusual black stone from an Inuit woman living on the northern coast of Labrador. Believing it to be a practical aid against the bitter post-Light Canadian winters, he carries it with him, using its ability to retain heat as he travels from settlement to settlement.
As the years pass, his health begins to deteriorate, and strange disturbances intrude on his increasingly isolated existence.
PITCHBLENDE is a quiet, unsettling tale of folklore, isolation, survival, and the strange things people carry with them.

THORNS:
Decades after the Light, the Thorns surrounding Tiverton, Ontario, still guard whatever the old world buried beneath them. Three brothers, the Keatons, have come looking for treasure. Hannah has come looking for them.
Armed with a crossbow and a Geiger counter, she follows the men into a landscape designed to keep the living away.
Based on the work of Michael Brill & Safdar Abidi for Knowledge Preservation for Nuclear Waste Repositories.

THE TOE:
If you enjoy post-apocalyptic fiction with a distinctly Canadian setting, bleak landscapes, unusual survival stories and a sense of humour about the end of the world, The Toe is a short trip into the Yukon of the Warriors of the Last Days universe.

THE LAST PROTOCOL:
Two military men, hidden in a bunker, receive the orders to follow the instructions for ultimate destruction. They proceed through the motion, trying hard to not break down, as the launch sequence is initiated…

Stéphane Roy is a lifelong reader and writer with a deep love for science fiction, apocalyptic worlds, and tightly constructed mysteries. This is his first novel. He lives in the Yukon with his dog and his aquarium, where long winters, silence, and wide, sometimes glowing, skies leave plenty of room for imagining the end of the world, and what might come after it. He is also waiting, with cautious optimism, for the aliens to finally reveal themselves and straighten us all out.
