THE COVERS

The Covers That Weren’t Supposed to Look Like This Table of Contents The Covers That Weren't Supposed to Look Like This The Starting Point Problem What the Tool Cannot Do The Process Nobody Talks About The Back Cover What the Physical Object Does The Honest Assessment Every book needs a cover. That much is simple. What nobody tells you is how many decisions are hiding inside that one...

BUILDING A LIVING WORLD:ONE STORY AT THE TIME

WARRIORS OF THE LAST DAYS SHORT STORIES A novel gives you a spine. A short story gives you breath. Starting now, the Warriors of the Last Days universe expands with a new rhythm: one short story every month. Not side content. Not extras. These are pieces of the same world: fragments that deepen it, contradict it, and sometimes quietly reshape what you thought you understood. Where It Begins The...

MAKING EPUBS

MAKING EPUBS: WHERE GREAT TOOLS MEET REAL CREATIVE LIMITS MY VELLUM IMPRESSIONS Creating an ePub today is both easier than ever and more constrained than it should be. On one side, you have tools like Vellum that make the process almost frictionless. On the other, you quickly hit a ceiling the moment you try to do anything beyond a “standard novel.” This post breaks down that tension from real...

BOOK COVERS LESSONS

What Making My Own Book Covers Taught Me I went into this assuming a good image and a strong idea would be enough. It isn’t. A book cover isn’t just design, it’s positioning. It has a job to do in a fraction of a second, often at thumbnail size, often in a crowded field, often for someone who has never heard of you. These are the lessons that actually moved the needle. 1. Don’t Lead With Your...

LAUNCHING!

Launching the first book There are moments where a project stops being an idea and becomes a world. After years of development, detours, rewrites, and reinvention, Warriors of the Last Days – Book I: THE REFUSAL is no longer in the making. It is ready. It is launching! We have officially received our ISBNs. That single administrative milestone unlocks everything that follows: distribution...

ISBN DELAYS

Why Our ISBN Delay Matters for the Launch of Our First Book Launching a first book is supposed to be about final edits, cover files, print proofs, metadata, retailer setup, and building excitement. Right now, one of the most basic pieces of that process is still missing: our ISBNs. We submitted our request, followed the published timeline, and then followed up after that timeline had already...

THE FEELING OF BEING READY

FEELING READY: MAKING PROGRESS There is something exciting about how the body feels when you know you are close to something. Close to the finish line, close to finishing the manuscript. We just completed The Lullaby: A Song for the Last Days, inspired by the music video we recently edited, set in the Warriors of the Last Days universe. As usual, it was meant to start as one thing, some sort of...

READ BEFORE ANYONE ELSE

The Warriors of the Last Days ARC Program Is Now Open Montreal is gone. What grew in its place is something that shouldn’t exist. That’s the world of Warriors of the Last Days: a four-book dystopian series set in post-nuclear Montreal, where survival is managed by systems nobody voted for, power hides inside procedures, and the most dangerous thing in the ruins might not have claws...

Warriors of the Last Days Cover Reveal

Exclusive First Look COVER REVEAL Book I: The Refusal I’ve been sitting on this cover reveal for a while now, and I’ll be honest, it’s been hard to keep quiet about it. Warriors of the Last Days started as a question I couldn’t shake: what happens to ordinary people when everything collapses at once? Not just governments or infrastructure, but the assumptions we live by:...

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Stéphane Roy is a lifelong reader and writer with a deep love for science fiction, apocalyptic worlds, and tightly constructed mysteries. This is his first novel. He lives in the Yukon with his dog and his aquarium, where long winters, silence, and wide, sometimes glowing, skies leave plenty of room for imagining the end of the world, and what might come after it. He is also waiting, with cautious optimism, for the aliens to finally reveal themselves and straighten us all out.
