After the tunnels fall and the slums flood, the survivors of the Sump climb toward a rumor: Francon, a limestone quarry that still holds heat,...
In a drowned, shaking city where the earth itself devours the weak, a quiet ground-reader named Andy must choose between the brutal safety of a stone quarry and the inhuman order of a marching empire that never wastes a body.
The flood that destroyed the lowlands created the Sump. And the Sump created Andy. When the Stadium begins its expansion, absorbing the territories left vacant by RESO’s collapse, staying means submission. Andy, his wife Renée, and a small group of survivors head north toward Francon quarry, a former snow removal dump turned village, rumoured to be something close to safety.
The trek is the book. Microclimates that shouldn’t exist. Quicksand. Glastorms, pockets of lightning that fuse sand into lethal shards in seconds. Glowers, the Stadium’s psionic enforcers, hunting them across open ground. People die. Specifically, and without ceremony.
Francon exists. They reach it. It is not what the rumours promised. And on the horizon, the Stadium’s armies are massing.
The Exodus is the second book in the Warriors of the Last Days series, a post-nuclear dystopian series set in Montreal, where survival is not a destination, only a direction.
