ADVANCE READER COPY PROGRAM

ADVANCE READER COPY: WARRIORS OF THE LAST DAYS UNIVERSE.Four cloaked figures walk through post-nuclear Montreal under elemental symbols. Olympic Stadium stands amid orange-grey sky and debris.
The protagonists journey through a devastated Montreal, marked by elemental powers, a central theme of the post-nuclear series.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

Warriors of the Last Days is a four-book post-apocalyptic series set in Montreal, years after a nuclear event has fractured society into competing factions held together by protocol, fear, and memory. The story follows people trying to survive systems designed to outlast them. If you read dystopia for the architecture of collapse rather than the spectacle of it, this series was written for you. It suits readers who want literary weight in genre fiction, and who have grown tired of worlds where one extraordinary person saves everything.

WHY THIS SERIES?

The Warriors of the Last Days tetralogy started as a screenplay more than thirty years ago. It has been rewritten, expanded, and built into a novel series that takes seriously what most post-apocalyptic fiction skips: how institutions mutate, how ordinary people become instruments of power, and how the world keeps running even when it should have stopped.

Each of the four books explores a different elemental theme and a different angle on the same fractured world. They are already written. The release schedule is one book every three months.

The first series is set in Montreal but subsequent books in the series will be set in various Canadian cities. Sometimes, things will be connected and interlinked, sometimes not.

ADVANCE READERS WANTED

We’re inviting a small group of readers to join our ARC Program ( Advance Reader Copies) into the world of the Warriors of the Last Days series.

If you enjoy literary dystopia, systems-fiction, and stories where power hides inside procedures rather than villains, we’d like to put an early copy in your hands. Advance Reader Copy Program readers receive the book in EPUB/PDF before release and are asked, if they wish, to leave an honest review on launch.

WHAT YOU GET

• early access to the full novel(s).

• direct updates about all the other novels as they become available.  All novels are already written, they just need to go through editing.  The release schedule is one book every three months.

• occasional behind-the-scenes notes.

• no spam, no pressure. Always.

WHAT WE ASK

• a thoughtful review on your preferred platform. Positive or negative is absolutely fine, as long as it is properly articulated.

• no spoilers before launch day.

— Stéphane

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is an Advance Reader Copy (ARC)?

SCAVENGER reading the Last Days Dispatch

An Advance Reader Copy is a pre-release version of a book, provided to readers before the official publication date. Advance Reader Copies exist so that reviews can be ready at launch, when they matter most. The text may contain minor errors that are corrected before final publication. If you spot any, feel free to let us know. Everything that helps the novel to be the best it can be is thoroughly appreciated.

Do I have to write a review to receive the book?

A hooded person reads various community messages on a post-apocalyptic bulletin board, illuminated by candlelight.

No. You are never required to review. If you read the book and choose to leave an honest review on your preferred platform, that is welcome and appreciated. That said, the program tracks participation over time. Readers who repeatedly request books without engaging are eventually removed from future campaigns.

How does reviewing work?

A distressed 'Post-Apocalyptic Calendar' with scattered military gear: gas mask, rifle, lantern, and ammunition.

You read the book at your own pace before the deadline listed in the campaign. If you wish to leave a review, you post it on the platform of your choice on or after the launch date, not before. No spoilers before launch. You will not be able to upload your review in your account anyways if you do it before the required date.

Which platforms are accepted?

PUBLISHING PARTNERS

Any platform where you have an account and read regularly — Goodreads, Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, StoryGraph, a personal blog. There is no required platform. You are, however, required to have a Goodreads account to join the Advance Reader Copy Program.

A dystopian novel series set in post-nuclear Canada

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Stéphane Roy is a lifelong reader and writer with a deep love for science fiction, apocalyptic worlds, and tightly constructed mysteries. This is his first novel. He lives in the Yukon with his dog and his aquarium, where long winters, silence, and wide, sometimes glowing, skies leave plenty of room for imagining the end of the world, and what might come after it. He is also waiting, with cautious optimism, for the aliens to finally reveal themselves and straighten us all out.
