FIRST TWO YEARS OF NOVEL DRAFTS COMPLETED
The Latest Milestone: Cold Storage First Draft Finished
Today marks a significant achievement in the Warriors of the Last Days universe: the first draft of Cold Storage, the eighth novel in our sprawling Canadian post-apocalyptic series, is now complete. Set in the frozen wilds of Yukon, this Christmas-themed survival horror sees the return of fan-favorite character Edouard Marsh from The Toe, as he teams up with new allies for the longest night of their lives. A mysterious purple aurora descends upon Dawson City, a former Gold Rush town, unleashing waves of insanity upon its residents. Ironically, this chilling tale was written during a heatwave, a stark contrast to its themes of cold, isolation, and the desperate search for warmth.
This means that at least the first draft of the novels scheduled for the first two years are completed!
The Warriors of the Last Days Series: A Nation-Spanning Apocalypse
Our series doesn’t just tell a single story, it weaves a pan-Canadian tapestry of survival, collapse, and human resilience across some of the country’s most iconic and unexpected locations. Here’s where we’ve been, where we’re going, and what’s coming next.
Cycle I: The Montreal Quadrilogy or the Stadium Cycle (Releasing Now)
The first four novels anchor the series in Montreal, Quebec, establishing the foundation of our apocalyptic world:
- The Refusal – Released – The spark that ignites the end.
- The Exodus – Released – Flight from a village on the brink.
- The Drift – Coming September 2026 – Survival on the move.
- The Spark – Coming December 2026 – The first cycle’s explosive conclusion.
Editing Note: All those books are currently written. Each novel takes 2-3 months to edit from first draft to publication. With all first drafts complete, we’re on track to deliver the full cycle by year’s end. So far, The Exodus, the Drift and The Spark compete for the title of favourite of the series.

Year 2: A Mari usque ad Mare Cycle I (All drafts currently completed)
Beyond Montreal, the apocalypse spreads:

This following cycles are called A Mari usque ad Mare and features two Eastern based novels and Two Western based one in each. This is the first one in that series, so A Mari usque ad Mare I.
All first drafts for the current cycle are now complete. Editing is underway, and we’re exploring ways to accelerate the process. So far, The Front and Cold storage compete for being our favourite novels in this cycle.
These titles complete the first two years of stories cycles.
Year 3: A Mari usque ad Mare Cycle II (Planned, Not Yet Written)
Starting this Fall 2026, we begin writing the third cycle of the series, expanding the map even further:

These four novels will begin drafting in Fall 2026, with monthly short stories bridging the gaps between releases.
Year 4: A Mari usque ad Mare Cycle III (Planned, Not Yet Written)
Starting in Fall 2027, we begin writing the fourth cycle of the series:

Year 5: The Dominion of Damnation aka A Mari usque ad Mare Cycle 4 (Planned, Not Yet Written)
Starting in Winter 2028, we will begin writing the fifth cycle of the series, expanding the map even further:

The novels for Cycle Five should begin drafting in Winter 2028, or earlier if time allows. These stories are spread out across the entire countries and cardinal points. Dominion of Damnation is technically an A Mari usque ad Mare cycle but its has its own denomination because all the stories are linked to the same causal effect started in Of Marsh and Men: Chignecto Sea.
Year 6: A Mari usque ad Mare IV Cycle 5 – (Planned, Not Yet Written)

With eight first drafts now complete, we’re exploring ways to streamline editing without compromising quality. The goal? Get these stories to you faster.

Stéphane Roy is a lifelong reader and writer with a deep love for science fiction, apocalyptic worlds, and tightly constructed mysteries. This is his first novel. He lives in the Yukon with his dog and his aquarium, where long winters, silence, and wide, sometimes glowing, skies leave plenty of room for imagining the end of the world, and what might come after it. He is also waiting, with cautious optimism, for the aliens to finally reveal themselves and straighten us all out.
