Warriors of the Last Days is a dystopian systems-fiction series set in Canada, in the ruins of a world that did not end in fire or prophecy, but a strange, slow optimization.
A future where infrastructure outlived belief, where survival became procedural, and where people learned, slowly, painfully, what happens when systems are allowed to decide what matters.
This website exists to open that world to you. A place to explore before the gates open.
Here, you’ll find glimpses of a story still unfolding: fragments of lore, excerpts, maps, and reflections on the forces that shape the series: power, pressure, obedience, refusal. You’ll meet characters navigating structures larger than themselves, making choices that carry real cost, and discovering that resistance does not always look heroic when it first appears.
The books are not yet released. This is the beginning. All books have been written. Book I is coming to the end of a two months grueling revision with proofreaders, development editor and structural editor to be the best it can be. Then we will be on Book II. Then III. Then IV. If all goes well, there will be a book out every 2-3 months.
Book I will be ready in March 2026. In paper, EPUB and PDF Audio Books should follow shortly. Besides this website, they will also be available on Kobo, Amazon, Apple Books, B &N and a few others. Whom and when will be announced here.
This story is has always had a special place in my heart. It was first a screenplay, many decades ago, which we turned into a film. Not quite a feature but close. It was not good by any stretch of the imagination. But it was fun. We reproduced its opening scene in Book I prologue, almost beat by beat.
The story evolved magnificently, no longer limited by budget, weather, or camera angles. I am still proud of it. I can’t wait for you to discover it. I have been living with this story in the corner of my mind for most of my life.
If you’re drawn to speculative fiction that treats systems as characters, that questions efficiency as morality, and that believes the most dangerous futures are the plausible ones, you’re in the right place.

Stéphane Roy is a lifelong reader and writer with a deep love for science fiction, apocalyptic worlds, and tightly constructed mysteries. This is his first novel. He lives in the Yukon with his dog and his aquarium, where long winters, silence, and wide, sometimes glowing, skies leave plenty of room for imagining the end of the world, and what might come after it. He is also waiting, with cautious optimism, for the aliens to finally reveal themselves and straighten us all out.
