Most of the short stories have been written for the next two years.
We wrote the first draft of the first four novels before we even made the website.
Warriors of the Last Days was originally a 45 minutes movie we shot with friends during our University years.
Warriors of the Last Days almost became a real movie, under the same title, a few decades ago. It did not see the light of day because it was too expensive.
The cover of the Tetralogy bundle, the cross over a nuclear mushroom, was the poster of the original film.
The scene from the prologue is straight from the screenplay. It started the film and it ended with the tear in a mushroom shape.
The mushroom shared tear was, ironically, one of the scene we had to fight the hardest with editing to keep, considered to be too “on the nose”.
We did a little teaser trailer for the prologue and we are pretty happy with the way the tear turned out.
Believe it or not, creating a proper banner for this section of the website was the most difficult endeavor of this entire project. Details available on demand.
Originally, the series was supposed to be the name of a single novel. Then the story grew to four novels. Then we started to have short stories ideas. First around the novel, then Canada at large. So the series became the story of the Apocalypse across all of Canada.
Stéphane Roy is a lifelong reader and writer with a deep love for science fiction, apocalyptic worlds, and tightly constructed mysteries. This is his first novel. He lives in the Yukon with his dog and his aquarium, where long winters, silence, and wide, sometimes glowing, skies leave plenty of room for imagining the end of the world, and what might come after it. He is also waiting, with cautious optimism, for the aliens to finally reveal themselves and straighten us all out.
